Psychiatrist in NYC

Dr. Moazen is a psychiatrist and trauma therapist with advanced training in EMDR, AEDP, Prolonged Exposure, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. He believes that healing begins with connection and at the center of his work is the therapeutic relationship—built on trust, compassion, and collaboration. He commonly works with neurodivergent clients, tailoring care to meet the emotional and psychological needs of individuals, honoring both their struggles and their strengths. His unwavering support for LGBTQ2SIA+ clients is grounded in a deep respect for each person’s unique story.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Moazen is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai Hospital, where he teaches psychiatry residents and has previously served as a Physician-Scientist Chief Resident. His research focuses on the treatment of psychiatric disorders and health disparities, with over 30 published articles and more than 1,000 citations by fellow scientists and clinicians. He has served as a peer reviewer for top rank psychiatry journals such as JAMA Psychiatry and American Journal of Psychiatry, and hosts the Psych Minutes podcast, where he breaks down trending topics—like medical cannabis—into clear, evidence-based guidance that’s accessible to all.

Dr. Moazen has trained at some of the most respected centers for trauma care and LGBTQ+ mental health, including Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS), the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), and the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania (CTSA).
